The Phonemic Synthesis (PS) Test is used to evaluate auditory processing skills. This version of the test is most sensitive for evaluating children under 10 years of age, although it can be used through adulthood. The PS Test provides information about a person’s phonemic decoding ability, and may also offer insights about auditory memory and sequencing.
